The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Executive Direction is recruiting for: NIMIIPUU COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR HR-15-116 full-time regular. Executive Director of the Nimiipuu Community Development Fund, CDFI. Duties include addressing initial technical development and services of the non-profit Nimiipuu Community Development Fund that are; grant writing, a viable business plan, board development, staff, day to day operations, and is responsible to process loans from “concept to repayment.” The Executive Director and Board of Directors will be responsible for fund raising to meet annual goals to maintain the appropriate lending capacity of the institution to be self-sustaining. Applicant is required to have an associate’s degree with emphasis in accounting, finance, or related field: Bachelor’s degree preferred in any field. The experience requirements are to demonstrate responsible related experience in non-profit fundraising, financial lending, or accounting; or, any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Law & Justice is recruiting for: CHIEF JUDGE HR-15-122 This position requires a wide range of legal, administrative, management and budgetary skills. The Chief Judge presides over the Tribal Court, and hears, or assigns to other Tribal Court Associate and Pro-Tem judges, all cases heard in the Tribal Court. The Chief Judge handles all phases of civil and criminal litigation, drafts orders, opinions, memoranda and other legal documents, and fulfills all other duties required of the Chief Judge to assure an effective and fair Tribal Court. In addition, the Chief Judge supervises Associate Judges, and the Court Administrator/Chief Clerk. Requires three (3) years’ experience as a judge, tribal court judicial experience preferred. More than five (5) years of tribal court Chief Judge experience and evidence of success in court administration, court staff supervision and court budget development is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate that they have a thorough knowledge of Indian law, the Nez Perce Tribal Code, and applicable federal law, including but not limited to the Tribal Law and Order Act and Violence Against Women Act. Must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and must be a member in good standing of a state bar. Responsibility includes handling broodstock and production of many different species as needed. Incumbent is required to learn and practice standard fish culture methods and terminology, using tools and equipment for all phases of salmonid fish culture under the general supervision of the assigned Project Leader and Technical staff. Requirement: Nez Perce Tribal member, incoming high school student grades 9th-12th with a minimum age of fourteen (14) years. Student must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.0. The Nez Perce Tribe Dept. of Fisheries Resource Management Watershed Division is recruiting for: PROFESSIONAL V – PROJECT LEADER HR-15-137 full-time regular. Candidate will join a highly professional and experienced team and be responsible for promoting, implementing, and advancing a ridge-top watershed/aquatic ecosystem restoration, protection and monitoring effort that is critical for fisheries restoration, Nez Perce Tribal treaty resources, and all people. Project area/watershed(s) in-clude the Selway River, Clear Creek, and Lolo Creek and position will be station in Lapwai, ID. This position will develop, update, and implement short and longer term goals and strategies and be respon-sible for seeking grants and managing contracts, statement of works, and budgets. Knowledge and ex-perience with watershed data analysis and interpretation, project planning and design, implementation, and associated monitoring is required. Requires a high level of coordination with private, local, state, federal, and tribal entities. Applicant must be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and report writing. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field (Master’s pre-ferred). Related field and/or course work requirements defined in job expectations. Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission (CRITFC) is recruiting for a Lamprey Collection Technician (2 positions). Temporary, full-time, non-exempt (4-6 month duration) with a duty station Portland, OR. The Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission’s (CRITFC) Fish Management Department, through the objectives laid out in CRITFC’s Tribal Pacific Lamprey Restoration Plan for the Columbia River Basin, is assisting its member tribes in the collection of adult Pacific lamprey at mainstem Columbia River Dams for use in ongoing Pacific lamprey adult supplementation (translocation) efforts. The individual hired for this temporary position will be the primary, on-the-ground contact for CRITFC member tribes (Nez Perce, Umatilla, Warm Springs, and Yakama) that have initiated supplementation (translocation) projects within tributaries of their ceded areas. The primary responsibility for this position will be to set, collect, log, and transfer adult Pacific lamprey from the previously determined dam locations to a central holding site in close coordination with CRITFC member tribe lamprey collection staffs. Point No Point Treaty Council, an intertribal natural resource management agency serving two Western Washington Treaty Tribes, is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Shellfish Program Manager at the Central Office located in Poulsbo, WA. The shellfish Pro-gram Manager shall work with other Treaty Area technical staff to provide the expertise necessary for pre-season harvest planning and in season fishery management of sub-tidal Treaty-reserved shellfish resources. Whitman County Human Resources is recruiting for a Corrections Officer. This is responsible work receiving adult prisoners, assuring their physical well being, guarding them in the county jail facility, and assisting with juvenile supervision. The purpose of the program is to serve a targeted population of youth ages 16-21 who meet the following socio-economic criteria or requirement: 1) an enrolled member of a U.S. Federally Recognized Tribe; 2) a resident on or near the Nez Perce reservation; and 3.a) a member of a household receiving cash assistance payments (TANF/GA) or food stamps or low in-come according to federal guideline, 70% of the Lower Living Income Standard Level; 3.b) an indi-vidual with a disability. The Pacific Northwest Region of the USDA Forest Service has launched the Forest Service Employment Outreach Website at https://fsoutreach.gdcii.com/Outreach for the general public job seeker searching for current and future employment opportunities.
“This is a new, exciting service for individuals looking for employment with the U.S. Forest Service in the Pacific Northwest,” said Nita Wornom, Pacific Northwest Region Civil Rights Director. “The employment outreach database allows job seekers to search for positions in specialties such as fire, trails, timber, recreation, fisheries and archeology.”
The new website provides a variety of search fields like type of opportunity, organization, series, grade, duty location and type of position as well as the ability to respond directly to an outreach notice. Job seekers can also provide a statement that explains why they are a quality candidate for a particular job.
A step by step guide for using the website is available by following the “Help” button at the bottom of the website page. The vacancy announcements for positions will be posted on the www.usajobs.gov website upon completion of the outreach notice where applicants can complete and submit the job application.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • If a positions require a high school diploma or equivalent, or college education/degree (a copy of diploma or transcripts must be submitted with application).
  • If a position requires a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the Tribe’s policy (must provide a current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • All Gaming positions require aa Nez Perce Tribal Gaming license which involves a complete background investigation
  • The Enterprise is a drug free work environment - Pre-employment drug testing is required
  • An Enterprise application and three (3) letters of reference are required.  Resume is highly suggested.
