OUTREACH NOTICE: Clearwater National Forests is outreaching a permanent seasonal, 13/13, Animal Packer. The duty station will be at Fenn Ranger Station, located on the Selway River. This position will be supervised by Central Zone Wilderness and Trails Manager. This position supports the Recreation program on the Central Zone of the Nez Perce Ė Clearwater National Forests, which includes the Moose Cr Ranger District, and the recently combined Powell, and Lochsa Ranger Districts, as well as providing occasional packing assistance to other Districts on the Forest. This is a field going position, packing into the remote backcountry of the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness, on multiday pack trips. Duties include transportation of large quantities of supplies and equipment to remote backcountry locations by horse or mule. These packing duties may be performed with a long string, normally consisting of nine pack animals and a lead animal. Nez Perce Tribe Education Department is recruiting for Youth Mentor Consultants for the new Nez Perce Youth Mentoring Project. PAID CONSULTANTS (Part-time): ADULT MALE MENTORS NEEDED. Two Mentors to be stationed in Kamiah and four Mentors to be station in Lapwai. Positions opened until filled. Summary: The Nez Perce Youth Mentoring Project will provide a positive relationship to Native American boys, age 12-18, attending one of four schools (Clearwater Valley, Kamiah, Lapwai, Orofino) or the Nez Perce GED program on the Nez Perce reservation. This project is funded by an Administration for Native Americans (ANA), Social and Economic Development Strategies (SEDS) grant. Mentors will work in a school-based, group mentoring environment. Youth Mentors facilitate small group conversations that allow students enrolled in Nez Perce Youth Mentoring project to safely express themselves and to gain self-awareness.
