The Nez Perce Tribal Executive Committee (NPTEC) is recruiting for: MANAGER V – LAW & ORDER EXECUTIVE OFFICER HR-16-125 To provide executive level management for the Law and Order operations of the Nez Perce Tribe; specifically the divisions of Judicial Services (court), Law Enforcement, Prosecutor (including Probation), Tribal Employments Right Office (TERO), Victim’s Assistance, and Child Support Enforcement Program (CSEP). Provides intra-departmental, intertribal, and interagency coordination. Develops departmental policy, long-range goals, and present department recommendations to appropriate Subcommittees and NPTEC. Coordinates and communicates with other Program/Department Managers at the executive level to ensure compliance with the Nez Perce Law and Order code and state and federal regulations and laws; implements tribal and program policy and operations; responsible for development, implementation and oversight of departmental grants, contracts, and/or projects. Provides representation, coordination and communication with other agencies, members of legislative bodies and the public regarding the department direction, goals, and objectives. Assists NPTEC, and pertinent Boards and Commissions, in providing technical representation in management forums as required. Provides department supervision and oversight to ensure project development, budgets, annual review, reports and personnel administration are implemented as designed. Requires a Juris Doctorate (Law) degree. Must submit to full disclosure of any personal business that may present a conflict of interest with the Nez Perce Tribe and must submit to intensive criminal and fiscal background check. Requires five (5) years executive level management experience and three (3) years supervisory experience. Related legal experience preferred. The Nez Perce Tribe Prosecutor’s Department is recruiting for: DEPUTY PROSECUTOR HR-16-143 full-time position. To assist the prosecutor to prevent and reduce criminal activity and victimization on the Nez Perce Reservation through vigorous and effective investigation and prosecution of crimes, combined with effective victim services and appropriate offender programs and sanctions. The Deputy Prosecutor works closely with the Tribal Police Department, Conservation Enforcement, Social Services Department, Probation Program and other Tribal and community service agencies. The Deputy Prosecutor is supervised by the Nez Perce Tribal Prosecutor. Requires a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Requires licensure in good standing with any state bar. Must pass criminal background check with no criminal convictions. Requires at least two (2) years of successful work experience as a criminal defense attorney or prosecutor, preferably in a Tribal court. RE-ADVERTISEMENT: The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Education/ECDP Program is recruiting for: TEACHER II HR-16-177 (KAMIAH0 Requires Vocational/Technical applied Associates Degree in Ear-ly Childhood (AAS) or an Associates Degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education or related field (with at least 6 credited hours toward a CDA) and one (1) year related experience. Incumbent shall continue education to obtain a Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) or a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in related field. Requires previous experience working with children 0-5 years of age. Must have excellent demonstrat-ed communication skills, both oral and written, be computer literate and posses the ability to relate to children. Demonstrate knowledge and ability to apply early childhood education philosophy dealing with the “whole child” to include working with special needs children. Requires a background check. To ensure quality service and planning of meals which meet the children’s needs and that complies with tribal, federal, state, and local regula-tions. Requires a High School Diploma/GED or specialized vocational training, and three (3) months experience in volume food preparation and cooking; t include cycle menu planning, purchasing and in-ventory, food demonstration, and ability to communicate effectively and teach in the classroom and par-ent and staff training. The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Law & Justice is recruiting for: PROBATION OFFICER SUPERVISOR HR-16-193 regular full-time. The purpose of the class is to direct the daily operations of the Probation Department and to ensure that services provided by the Program are consistent with community protection, offender accountability, and competency development. Develops, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates grant funded programs and services contracted for adult justice services. Acts as liaison to other community agents for prevention, victim and other related services including work in lieu of jail programs. Responsible for ensuring improved public safety, supervision and rehabilitation probation services. The Probation Supervisor is under the direct supervision of the Law & Order Executive Officer and works cooperatively with Tribal law enforcement, Tribal judicial system, and appropriate NPTEC officials. Requires an associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field; Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Science (BS) in a related field preferred; Four (4) years related experience and/or training in Probation or law enforcement with Adult Misdemeanor Probation or Police Officer POST Academy certification preferred; and three (3) years in supervisory capacity in a related field. Requires four (4) years successful experience in a law enforcement or judicial environment, preferably as a probation office/Experienced writing detailed report writing with supporting rational for recommendations made. Must have experience working with you and adults. Must have working knowledge of the tribal justice system as well as understanding how family dynamics affect criminal defenders behavior; must be knowledgeable of community resources for assisting probationers to achieve and maintain sobriety as well as education/employment resources. Requires working knowledge of interview methods, case management, and basic counseling skills. Must pass a criminal background check. The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Social Services/Women’s Outreach Program (WOP) is recruiting for: RECEPTION OF RESOURCES HR-16-194 full-time regular. To be first person of contact for the Warm Fires Resource Center. Will assist with public service announcements and other outlets of technology/media for the community to learn of services. The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Wildlife is recruiting for: WILDLIFE TECHNICIAN II HR16-195 temporary ninety day (90) day position. Preform duties relating to the operations and maintenance of the Precious Lands Wildlife Mitigation Project. Performs and directs maintenance at project facilities, including but not limited to, access of roads, fence construction and repair, windfall removal, building maintenance and landscaping activities. May perform weed control and vegetation rehabilitation activities. Assist primarily with a fence construction project. Must be willing/able to work outside on steep terrain in all weather conditions on a four (4) day, ten (10) hour/day schedule. Requires overnight stays in the field. Requires two (2) years of college education (48 credits). Three years of relevant experience is equivalent to one (1) year of college. Columbia River Inter - Tribal Fish Commission (CRITFC) is recruiting for: Genetics Laboratory Technician. We are seeking to fill multiple openings for a Genetics Laboratory Technician. These positions are part of CRITFC's Fishery Science Department, but will be located with the genetics group at the Hagerman Fish Culture Experiment Station in Hagerman, ID. This research group is involved in testing conservation, evolution, and ecological theories related to salmonids and other fishes. The Genetics Laboratory Technician will work under the Lead Geneticist, in association with CRITFC geneticists and other technicians, as well as staff of the Fishery Science Department in Portland, OR. The U.S. Forest Service (USFS), Premier Partner of the Wildlife Society, is sponsoring a Research Assistantship Program for Native American Students. This is the second year for the program, which will facilitate mentoring opportunities for USFS Research & Development (R&D) scientists with the students and promote student advancement and training for careers in natural re-source and conservation-related fields. REQUIREMENTS: 

  • If a position require a high school diploma or equivalent, or college education/degree (a copy of diploma or transcripts must be submitted with application).

  • All Gaming positions require a Nez Perce Tribal Gaming licensee which involves a complete background investigation.
