The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Law & Justice is recruiting for: CHIEF JUDGE HR-15-122 This position requires a wide range of legal, administrative, management and budgetary skills. The Chief Judge presides over the Tribal Court, and hears, or assigns to other Tribal Court Associate and Pro-Tem judges, all cases heard in the Tribal Court. The Chief Judge handles all phases of civil and criminal litigation, drafts orders, opinions, memoranda and other legal documents, and fulfills all other duties required of the Chief Judge to assure an effective and fair Tribal Court. In addition, the Chief Judge supervises Associate Judges, and the Court Administrator/Chief Clerk. Requires three (3) yearsí experience as a judge, tribal court judicial experience preferred. The Nez Perce Tribal Executive Committee (NPTEC) is recruiting for: INTERN ENTERPRISE EXECUTIVE OFFICER HR-16-124 Responsible for learning and eventually assuming management of the overall vision, long range goals, direction, operation, and function of the Nez Perce Tribal Enter-prises. The intern position is under the tutelage of the Enterprise Executive Officer. The intern will learn how to communicate with the Nez Perce Tribal Executive Committee and Enterprise Board. The intern will learn how to develop the vision, mission and how to create passion in employees. The training plan will include oversight and administration of the overall operation of the tribal enterprises that includes but not limited to; two (2) casinos, two (2) fuel convenience stores, and all future economic endeavors. The Executive Officer will provide training on gaming regulations how to monitor adherence to ensure that the gaming operations are in full compliance. The Nez Perce Tribal Executive Committee (NPTEC) is recruiting for: MANAGER V Ė LAW & ORDER EXECUTIVE OFFICER HR-16-125 To provide executive level management for the Law and Order operations of the Nez Perce Tribe; specifically the divisions of Judicial Services (court), Law Enforcement, Prosecutor (including Probation), Tribal Employments Right Office (TERO), Victimís Assistance, and Child Support Enforcement Program (CSEP). Provides intra-departmental, intertribal, and interagency coordination. Develops departmental policy, long-range goals, and present department recommendations to appropriate Subcommittees and NPTEC. Will assist in planning and supervising a full fish production program for the Nez Perce Tribal Hatchery Complex in consultation with the Production Supervisor III. Up to thirteen (13) permanent employees may be supervised. Pro-gram is 1.4 million fall Chinook and 825,000 spring Chinook salmon, and includes rearing and acclima-tion and six (6) remote sites. Will assist in planning and supervising a full fish production program for the Nez Perce Tribal Hatchery Complex in consultation with the Production Supervisor III. Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission (CRITFC): CRITFC Salmon Camp 2016. Salmon Camp is a component of the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission's Tribal Workforce Development program. The annual camp focuses on providing culturally relevant science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) experiences to foster an interest in natural resources careers and close the academic achievement gap for Native American youth. A limited number of incoming 6th-8th grade students from the four tribes are selected to attend the free camp. Meals and lodging are provided and, after the program is successfully completed, a stipend is offered. The week long camp is held during the summer in tribal homelands. The four tribes take turns hosting Salmon Camp. The 5-day, overnight camp exposes the students to a blend of Western science and traditional ecological and cultural knowledge. The Washington State University MOU Tribal Scholarship application deadline has been extended to June 1, 2016. Students who will be an incoming freshman or transfer student at WSU in Fall of 2016 are highly encouraged to apply. One requirement of the application is for students to receive the nomination of their tribe. For this reason, they are asked to submit their application to their respective tribal Higher Education office for signature of tribal delegates. We ask that your office returns selected applicants' packets to our office by July 1. The MOU Tribal Scholarship is open to new WSU students who are members of one of the eleven tribes to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with WSU, including: Coeur d'Alene Tribe, Colville Confederated Tribes, Confederated Tribes of the Salish and Kootenai, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon, Cowlitz Tribe, Kalispel Tribe, Kootenai Tribe of Idaho, Nez Perce Tribe, Spokane Tribe, and Yakama Nation. COMPUTER SPECIALIST II (NETWORKING) - [CRC-14-052] (Gaming) (Full-time) RE-ADVERTISEMENT - To provide technical support for personal computer, networking and telecommunication hardware. The class is responsible for assisting with the assembly, protection, and operation of computer/telecommunication networks in a gaming environment. Requires a Bachelorís degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training equivalent to satisfactory completion of four (4) years of college education with emphasis in Computers or closely related field. Must be able to obtain a valid health card or serve safe equivalent. Nez Perce Tribal Enterprises has Internship openings for summer 2016. We are seeking full time students pursing the following college degree programs: Finance/Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Computer Information Technology, Applied Technology, Industrial Electronics, Hospitality Management, Marketing/Communications, and Justice Studies.
The minimum requirements to apply are as follows:
ē Must be an enrolled member of the Nez Perce Tribe, must provide a copy of tribal enrollment or CIB.
ē Must be currently enrolled as a full time student (12 or more credits per quarter/semester) attending a regionally accredited college or university.
ē Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better and provide unofficial transcripts.
