The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Law & Justice is recruiting for: CHIEF JUDGE HR-15-122 This position requires a wide range of legal, administrative, management and budgetary skills. The Chief Judge presides over the Tribal Court, and hears, or assigns to other Tribal Court Associate and Pro-Tem judges, all cases heard in the Tribal Court. The Chief Judge handles all phases of civil and criminal litigation, drafts orders, opinions, memoranda and other legal documents, and fulfills all other duties required of the Chief Judge to assure an effective and fair Tribal Court. In addition, the Chief Judge supervises Associate Judges, and the Court Administrator/Chief Clerk. Requires three (3) years’ experience as a judge, tribal court judicial experience preferred. More than five (5) years of tribal court Chief Judge experience and evidence of success in court administration, court staff supervision and court budget development is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate that they have a thorough knowledge of Indian law, the Nez Perce Tribal Code, and applicable federal law, including but not limited to the Tribal Law and Order Act and Violence Against Women Act. Must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and must be a member in good standing of a state bar. To prepare and present legal documents in a court setting relating to civil child support enforcement action in both tribal and state courts on behalf of the Nez Perce Tribe. Responsible to supervise drafting and proper implementation of court related matters relating to orders and finding for tribal court proceedings, relating to child support. Work cooperatively with CSEP and tribal court staff in a highly confidential setting. Requires a Juris Doctorate or Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from an accredited law school (please submit copy). Requires active membership in a state bar association in good standing. Requires one (1) year experience in prosecution or criminal defense. Experience with child support enforcement preferred. Experience with basic federal Indian laws especially as it relates to sovereignty and child and families. Pre-Employment drug testing required. To provide legal defense services in criminal and civil matters for the Nez Perce Tribal Court. Must have at least one (1) year documented successful litigation experience, preferably in a Tribal Court. Requires verification of successful litigation experience by a letter of recommendation from the immediate supervisor, or by providing contact information from the immediate supervisor for a follow-up reference check. Applicant must demonstrate understanding of Tribal, federal, and state law and the multijurisdictional issues which often arise in Tribal Court. The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Finance is recruiting for: STAFF ACCOUNTANT I HR-15-164 full-time regular. To provide professional-level accounting and technical support for the overall operations, activities, internal controls and reporting required by the tribal government Finance Department. Will develop specific work methods and sequences. Under the direct supervision of the Director of General Accounting. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (with a minor in Accounting) from a four (4) year college or university is preferred. Three (3) years’ experience at this level may be substituted for one (1) year of formal education. 0-2 years’ of experience in accounting or related field. Pre-employment drug testing required. The Nez Perce Tribe Department Education Dept. ECDP is recruiting for: EARLY HEADSTART TEACHER I - LAPWAI, & KAMIAH CENTER - (PART-TIME & FULL-TIME) HR-15-165 Requires a high school diploma or GED and CDA certification. Chosen applicant will be expected to enroll and complete courses leading to a degree in ECE as outlined in their professional development plan. Re-quires previous experience working with children 0-5 years of age. Must have excellent demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written, be computer literate and possess the ability to relate to chil-dren. Demonstrate knowledge and ability to apply early childhood philosophy dealing with the “whole child” to include working with special needs children. Northwest Indian College (NWIC) is recruiting for: Foundational Course Instructor (P/T) to teach Foundational Courses at the Nez Perce Site. The Foundational Courses Instructor (P/T Faculty) will be responsible for teaching self-determination and reclaiming our Cultural Sovereignty - the identity that is formed by sacred histories, language, origin stories, and the heroes who continue to defend our families and our homelands. It is recognized that Native American (Indian) Tribes are inherently sovereign nations, who possess both the inherent and acquired rights to govern them-selves, their traditional homelands, and their natural resources. The faculty member is expected to prepare students for developing the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to be productive and successful administrators in tribal community and business organizations. The faculty member is expected to teach 8-10 credit hours of courses quarterly. The faculty member is responsible for curriculum design and redesign of classes; develop course syllabi and curricula; submit necessary reports where applicable such as enrollment, progress and grading information in a timely manner; order textbooks and supplies in advance of courses taught following established college timelines; create an environment, a presentation style and a pace in which learning is enhanced. Master’s de-gree in History, American Indian Studies, or related discipline; experience teaching at the postsec-ondary or secondary level (TA experience acceptable; instructor experience preferred); must have excellent oral and written communication skills; must have excellent interpersonal/people skills; ex-cellent organizational skills, handling multiple tasks and numerous student files. FACILITIES MANAGER

Salary/DOE/Full-Time/Lapwai) Facilities Manager [HR-15-24] Requires Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration/Management. Five (5) years of experience in building maintenance, facility management, construction management, or related activity including at least five (5) years at a supervisory level. Five (5) to ten (10) years of proven experience of maintenance of HVAC systems, plumbing, roofs, building infrastructure and equipment may substitute for education. Proven knowledge of OSHA standards for construction and Blood borne Pathogen standards. Experience/knowledge of NFPA 99 requirements for Healthcare organizations and in working with AAAHC standards for an Ambulatory Care facilities Knowledge of Life Safety Code 2000 requirements. The class is responsible to assist the coordination and evaluation of security operations of the buildings and properties of the Nez Perce Tribal Enterprises while strictly adhering to and enforcing all organizational policies and procedures at all times. Requires high school diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training in security procedures and protocols. The class is responsible and accountable for vault operations, bank deposits, and accurate control of all currency transactions with the gaming enterprise. Requires high school diploma or GED. Must be able to obtain a Nez Perce Tribal Gaming License (subject to complete background check). Requires two (2) years of high volume cash handling experience. Three (3) months customer service experience required; excellent oral and written communication skills, 10-key adding machine experience preferred, must be able to handle fast paced environment. HEAD CHEF - [CRC-15-035] [Gaming] (Full-time) RE-ADVERTISEMENT - Provides the overall leadership, guidance, and direction to the food & beverage back of house team members. The Head Chef will oversee the daily operations of the kitchen and banquet team members and will coordinate the orderly operation of the front of the house working in conjunction with the Food Service Outlet Manager. The Head Chef will be responsible for all Food & Beverage Food service purchasing and inventory control. The chef will monitor and enforce food cost, portioning, preparation, and presentation procedures. The chef will practice correct food handling procedure and general sanitation of the kitchen and all area’s included. The chef will be responsible for menu development, improvement and pricing. Requires a Culinary Arts/Associates Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school and eight years related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to obtain a Nez Perce Tribal Gaming License (subject to complete background check). STORE CLERK - [NPX-15-025] (Part-time) RE-ADVERTISEMENT - To deal with the public in a professional manner. Customer service is the most important part of the position in addition to keeping the store faced, clean, organized and presentable to the public. Work hours will be as required for designated shifts Monday through Sunday with schedules subject to change. The incumbent of this position will assist in maintaining store operations to assure guest satisfaction and profitability as well as a positive work atmosphere. Requires a high school diploma or GED.
