The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Law & Justice is recruiting for: CHIEF JUDGE HR-15-122 This position requires a wide range of legal, administrative, management and budgetary skills. The Chief Judge presides over the Tribal Court, and hears, or assigns to other Tribal Court Associate and Pro-Tem judges, all cases heard in the Tribal Court. The Chief Judge handles all phases of civil and criminal litigation, drafts orders, opinions, memoranda and other legal documents, and fulfills all other duties required of the Chief Judge to assure an effective and fair Tribal Court. In addition, the Chief Judge supervises Associate Judges, and the Court Administrator/Chief Clerk. Requires three (3) years’ experience as a judge, tribal court judicial experience preferred. More than five (5) years of tribal court Chief Judge experience and evidence of success in court administration, court staff supervision and court budget development is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate that they have a thorough knowledge of Indian law, the Nez Perce Tribal Code, and applicable federal law, including but not limited to the Tribal Law and Order Act and Violence Against Women Act. Must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and must be a member in good standing of a state bar. To oversee the operation of the three (3) centers located in Kamiah, Orofino, and Lapwai, ID. To coordinate activities for the general public which may require work-ing evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Requires an Associate’s degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training equivalent to satisfactory completion of two (2) years of college education. Three (3) years of experience at this level can be substituted for one (1) year of education. Pre-employment drug testing required. The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Social Services/Senior Citizens Program is recruiting for: SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAM COORDINATOR HR-15-144 (KAMIAH & OROFINO SATELLITE OFFICE) regular full-time position. To plan and implement project operations in cooperation with tribal elders in the Orofino/Kamiah area, assigned employees and other resources. Works within broad policy and organizational guidelines, plans, and implements projects, submits reports through proper channels, of written and verbal communication. Position is supervised by the Social Services Manager. Requires Liberal Arts Bachelor’s degree or education and training equivalent to four (4) years of college education in Business Management, Social Work, or a closely related field. The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Natural Resources Bio-Control Center is recruiting for: BIOLOGICAL CONTROL TECHNICIAN II HR-15-145 regular full-time position. Responsible for assisting the Nez Perce Tribe Bio-Control Center’s efforts in rearing, collection, sorting, packaging, and shipping of biological control insects to control invasive/noxious weeds. These efforts will take place on the NPT reservation, seeded territory, and is not limited to other places in the Pacific Northwest. Will include assisting in entering biological control release information into the Center’s centralized database in addi-tion to assisting in the management of bio-control rearing gardens and rearing efforts in greenhouses. Will involve assisting in educational workshops, seminars, and landowners/manager trainings. Position is taked with conducting bio-control collections and releases in the field and recording the release utiliz-ing a GPS and taking a photo point. Will be assisting in performing trend monitoring and recording the information utilizing a standardized methodology. Requires two (2) years of college education (48 cred-its). Three (3) years of relevant experience is equivalent to one (1) year of college. Requires one (1) year related experience to project needs and six (6) months leadership experience. The Nez Perce Tribe Department of Natural Resource, Forestry & Fire Management Division is recruiting for: FORESTY TECHNICIAN I HR-15-146 full-time regular position. Assists with forest management by completing fieldwork related to forest inventory, hazardous fuels monitoring, timber sale preparation, and forest stand assessments. Fish and Wildlife Commission is accepting letters of interest to fill the vacant position of alternate mem-ber in accordance with the By-Laws of the Nez Perce Tribe Fish and Wildlife Commission Articles IV - Section 8. By-Laws of the NPTFWC Article IV - "Section 3: Qualifications: The selection and appoint-ment of the Commission members and one alternate member shall be made based on consideration of the Tribe's welfare and best interest in protecting the Tribe's treaty-reserved fishing and hunting rights and utilizing, conserving, and rebuilding fish and wildlife resources. No person shall be appointed to the Commission or alternate unless he/she is well informed about and interested in these issues..." NPTEC is soliciting letters of interest from all qualified individuals interested in filling the remaining term of one (1), three (3) year vacant Nimiipuu Health Board position. The term will be from “upon selection” through December 12, 2017. Applicants must meet the following criteria as set forth in the Nimiipuu Health Board’s By-laws: Background and experience in a health or business-related field and their commitment to improving the health of Indian people living on the Nez Perce Reservation. Resident of the service area and either members of the Nez Perce Tribe or other IHS eligible population (Current Nimiipuu Health employees are not eligible). At least two (2) members will be health professionals or will hold advanced degrees in a related field. These members may be IHS eligible beneficiaries or non-Indians and are not required to reside in the service area. The Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative at the University of Arkansas School of Law was launched in 2013 to assist Indian Country in issues related to tribal governance in food and agriculture, strategic business and community assessments, and youth education and professional development in food and agriculture. In furtherance of our goals in service to Indian Country, we held the first ever “Native Youth in Food and Agriculture: Summer Leadership Summit” in July 2014. We welcomed 48 students from 22 tribes to the inaugural Summit for a week of classroom learning, field trips, culture sharing, and leadership opportunities. Students came from all across Indian Country to attend, and the accomplishments and continued learning of those first Summit students continue to astound us. This year we are holding the 2nd annual Summit. We are looking for first-time attendees, second-time attendees who will serve as “Summit Fellows” and Student Leaders who are already attending college or university. We are looking for American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian students with a passion and interest in food and agriculture who are willing to be our next generation of food and agriculture leaders in Indian Country. Cost to attend: All food, lodging, instructional materials, and field trip costs will be provided. We are able to offer up to $500 in travel assistance per student. However, we need applications as soon as possible to plan for travel needs. PLAYERS CLUB REPRESENTATIVE - [CRC-15-013] [Gaming] (Full-time) - Provides exceptional service to Players Club members while staffing the Players Club station, including communicating program features, assisting with membership registration and databases. Requires high school diploma or GED. Must be able to obtain a Nez Perce Tribal Gaming License (subject to complete background check). Requires a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the Tribe’s policy (must provide copy of driver’s license and a motor vehicle report of ENTIRE driving record (MVR)). MARKETING DIRECTOR - [CRC-15-024] [Gaming] (Full-time) - To accomplish the marketing departmental objectives by planning, organizing, and directing all functions required to promote the Nez Perce Tribal Enterprises marketability and promotional value and increase sales of products and services offered by the Nez Perce Tribal Enterprise’s. Ensure the Marketing Department operates in accordance with contractual requirements and applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or closely related field. Must be able to obtain a Nez Perce Tribal Gaming License (subject to complete background check). Requires a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the Tribe’s policy (must provide copy of driver’s license and a motor vehicle report of ENTIRE driving record (MVR)). CPA credential preferred. Requires five (5) years of direct marketing experience, three (3) years supervisory experience; three (3) years of strong database skills to include extensive knowledge in data-mining, data extraction, and data analysis; and a minimum of two (2) years as top level Marketing Executive dealing with other management officials and/or Tribal Councils, Gaming Commissions, committees, and State/Federal agencies. CASHIER II - [CRC-15-033] [Gaming] (Part-time & On-call) - To conduct cash transactions for the gaming enterprise. Class is responsible and accountable for the accurate control of all currency transactions between the gaming enterprise and general patrons, as well as in association with Cashier III & Cashier IV. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Must be able to obtain a Nez Perce Tribal Gaming License (subject to complete background check). Minimum of six (6) months cash handling experience preferred. Requires three (3) months customer service experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, 10-key adding machine experience preferred, must be able to handle fast paced environment. MACHINE FLOOR PERSON - [IYY-15-015] [Gaming] (Part-time/On-call) - Responsible for the general “monitoring” of the machine floor area, including such actions as assisting guests, making change while carrying a change belt, monitoring of machines in coordination with Machine Technicians, and assisting in the monitoring of jackpot winners.
