Forest Management Program
VISION
The vision for the Forestry Program is that of healthy,
productive forests which covers those lands originally forested on the
Reservation. It is a dream of a
Reservation environment that is clean, with diverse habitats and wholesome
populations of plants, animals and human beings. It is of a resilient, working forest which can meet the
needs of the Tribe without damaging the land base for future generations.
GOALS
The primary goal of the Forestry Program is to implement,
monitor and revise the Tribal Forest Management Plan as adopted by NPTEC, as
well as develop and implement individual management plans for all forested
allotments.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
The Forestry Program provides forest management expertise
and wildland fire protection to promote a healthy ecosystem; produce forest
