Financial Assistance
VISION
To provide quality services which promote empowerment and
self-sufficiency.

Education and Awareness about the resources available. Develop Program policies and procedures.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
Provide financial services as funding permits, to low-income needy families
from federal and tribal allocated funds following federal low income guidelines
when applicable.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS

LIHEAP is a once per fiscal year grant to
eligible households on the Nez Perce Reservation, to help meet the needs of
high heating costs. Application requires proof of household income,
Tribal identification and utility bill. Payments are made to vendor.

Elder assistance when funding is available, is for NP Tribal
members age 65 or older to meet emergency household repairs to
provide for the well being of the elder. Payments are payable to
the vendor. Application requires document of need an Tribal
identification. Proof of income not required.

Burial Assistance is available for deceased NP
enrolled individuals in an amount not to exceed $3,500. Designated
immediate family member may make application for funds. Proof of income
not required.

D&C when funding is available, is a once per fiscal year
payment to
vendors on behalf of income eligible NP Tribal enrolled members to meet
documented emergency needs. Grant is in the amount of $100.
Income guidelines are at 133% of poverty.

Emergency Housing when funding is available,
provides homeowners with emergency housing assistance and housing repairs for
the safety and protection of the inhabitants. Not available for home
payments or rent or other ongoing homeowner's responsibilities.
