The Social Services Dept. TANF Program is recruiting for: TANF CLIENT ADVOCATE HR-08-181 to document case narratives for TANF participants.  Requires one (1) year of college education in Social Work field or other fields that pertain to job readiness which may include Business, Small Business, Counseling, and Vocational Training.  Three (3) years of related work experience will substitute for educational component.  Must have three (3) months related work experience.   Requires a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the Tribes policy. (If your driver’s license is not issued from Idaho; a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the state your driver’s license is issued, is required with your application). This position closes 11/21/08. (Grade 13) 

The Dept. of Natural Resources ERWM Program is recruiting for: SMOKE MANAGEMENT TECHNICIAN IV  HR-08-182 to perform unique activities pertaining to the implementation of the Federal Air Rules for Reservations (FARR) on the Nez Perce Reservation, especially activities relating to implementation of the open burning and burn permit rules.  Requires two (2) years of college education (48 credits).  Three (3) years of relevant experience is equivalent to one (1) year of college.  Must have three (3) years of related experience to project needs and one (1) year supervisory experience.   Requires a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the Tribes policy. (If your driver’s license is not issued from Idaho; a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the state your driver’s license is issued, is required with your application). **Please Include College Transcript & Writing Sample (1 Page +)  This position closes 11/21/08. The Dept. of Natural Resources Cultural Resources Program is recruiting for: NEZ PERCE LANGUAGE INTERN HR-08-183 to assist professional staff members in a mentorship program.  Requires high school diploma or GED and must be a full-time academic student at an accredited college/university, must have completed one semester/term of college maintaining a 2.5 cumulative GPA.  Must comply with the Nez Perce Tribe Intern Policy.   Requires first year of Nez Perce language at the college level.  Requires a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the Tribes policy. (If your driver’s license is not issued from Idaho; a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the state your driver’s license is issued, is required with your application). ). **Please Include College Transcript  This position closes 11/21/08. (Grade 11) 

The Education Dept. Early Childhood Development Program is recruiting for: OFFICE ASSISTANT I HR-08-184 to provide general clerical support and provide daily office management for the Early Childhood Development Program.  Requires high school diploma or GED, with one (1) year clerical experience. Must successfully clear an extensive Criminal History Background Inquiry that indicates no conviction of child abuse and neglect, crimes against persons or serious felony.  Requires a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the ability to be insured under the Tribes policy. (If your driver’s license is not issued from Idaho; a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the state your driver’s license is issued, is required with your application). This position closes 12/1/08. (Grade 7)

·         Supervisory Wildlife Biologist (GS-0486-11) - US Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region

The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest will be filling a permanent full time, Supervisor Wildlife Biologist, GS-0486-11 position located at the Gold Beach Ranger District in Gold Beach, Oregon.  In addition, this position is responsible for the District's wildlife, invasive species and botany programs.  The tour of duty is permanent full time.  No government housing is available.

The purpose of this outreach notice is to determine the potential applicant pool for this position and to establish an appropriate recruitment method and area of consideration for the vacancy announcement (e.g., Region-wide, Service-wide, Government-wide, DEMO). ·         Forestry Technicial (GS-0462-06) - Payette National Forest Intermountain Central Idaho

The Payette National Forest is planning to fill a GS 0462-06 Forestry Technician position in silviculture.  This position is permanent with 13 of the 26 pay periods per year guaranteed.  The duty station is Council, Idaho.  This notification is being circulated to inform prospective applicants of this upcoming opportunity and to determine interest in the position.

·         Education and Parent liaison - Lapwai School District #341

There is an opening at Lapwai High School for an Education & Parent Liaison to assist in the supervision and instruction of students, (under the supervision of a certified teacher), working with individual and/or small groups of students and providing clerical support.  This is a grant position and is dependent on grant funding.

This position is 6 hours per day (ending at 6:30 p.m.) Monday – Thursday and 4 hours on Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Salary Range: $8.92 - $12.41per hour depending on experience

Classified Application Consists of: District Application, Letter of Interest, Disclosure Form, Two References.  Must meet No Child Left Behind requirements of 32 semester credits, 2 years of college or Passing score on the Paraprofessional Praxis Test.

Final candidates must pass a fingerprint/background check.

·    Assistant Engine Foreman (GS-0462-06) – Beaverhead Deerlodge National Forest

This position is a permanent-seasonal 13/13 position; duty station is Wisdom, Montana

Leads crews and performs duties in one of the following functional areas:

-         Wildland Fire Engine.  Serves as a lead wildland firefighter on a wildland fire engine.  Drives and operates a wildland fire engine, positioning the engine for proper use and operation.  Personally performs and directs others in starting pump engine, priming pump, adjusting engine speed and pump valves, laying hose, and using appropriate nozzles and nozzle adjustment in effective use of water and additives. 

-         Prescribed Fire.  Serves as a lead wildland firefighter on a prescribed fire crew.  Performs prescribed fire operations including preparation, ignition, monitoring, holding, and mop up.
