Wa-a'yas Community Center

VISION

The Wa-a=yas Community Center is a component of the Administration Department that provides a place for recreational, sports, educational & cultural activities to be held.

GOALS

• Promote a positive service attitude

• Solicit funding & volunteers.

• Focus on team building for programs, schools, agencies, and municipal offices.

• Emphasize traditional Nez Perce customs to youth and community.

• Encourage use of available tribal programs for better health needs.

• Promote family oriented activities

• Encourage patron involvement in a physical fitness program.

• Provide a safe & healthy community center

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

• Enforce the Community Center Management Plan.

• Manage/oversee operations of the community center.

• Plan, organize, and coordinate activities for youth, adult and Sr citizens.  Coordinate with agencies such as schools, organizations and municipal offices.

• Promote activities and resources to the community at-large such as posting announcements and activity calendars (monthly/weekly).

• Assist in emergency situations.

• Provide facility for meetings, pow wows, and/or other annual events
