VISION
To Adequately protect the safety and interests of the Nez Perce Tribal Community through the zealous enforcement of the Nez Perce Tribal Code.
GOALS
To vindicate the public's interest in punishing crime without extracting revenge on behalf of individual victims.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
PROSECUTOR
The Prosecutor is authorized to represent the Tribe in the
prosecution of all civil infractions, criminal proceeding and juvenile matters.
This begins with a review of police reports and criminal complaints taken
by Law Enforcement to determine if probable cause exists to believe that a crime
has been committed in violation of the Nez Perce Tribal Code.
The Prosecutor supervises Juvenile Probation Officer.
JUVENILE PROBATION
The Juvenile Probation Officer is monitoring Juvenile Offenders, to assure they
meet all conditions of their Court Order. The Probation Officer utilizes
the Alcohol and Drug Center, School Districts, Distance Learning Center and
other county agencies to assist in providing programs to Youth Offenders.
The Juvenile Probation Officer also monitors Community Service hours for both Adult and Juvenile Cases. Community Service is currently in place for work at Boys and Girls Club, Young Horseman's Program, Pow Wow Committees, Housing Authority, Various Tribal Programs.
