Perce Forest Products Enterprise
VISION
To use the best management practices and equipment to protect all forest resources while harvesting the Annual Allowable Cut (AAC) on the Nez Perce Reservation.
GOALS
To provide the Nez Perce Tribe with an annual cash flow from the harvest of forest products while balancing economic values with environmental concerns on the Nez Perce Reservation. To promote job opportunities for Indian owned business and enterprises in the forest products industry.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
The NPFPE primary responsibilities include preparations of all timber sale bids, notices, agreements, and contracts that are offered by the Nez Perce Tribe. To compile a log scale report on log deliveries to area mills on a bi-monthly basis and document financial transactions to contractors and the Nez Perce Tribe.
STAFF
The Manager, is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and supervision of timber sale management activities and operations of the Forest Products Enterprise. The NPFPE is in the process of negotiating the Cavendish Timber sale (2.000mbf). The Enterprise will solicit competitive bids for the logging and road development activities on these sales in June of 2005. The market conditions have improved substantially and the Enterprise plans to be completed with harvesting by October 31, 2005. The managers overall time to work in Fiscal Year 2005 will be very limited. The primary responsibilities include preparation of contracts, log scale reports, timber sales administration, log purchase agreements and requisitions.
