VISION
To Recover & Restore all populations, all species, of anadromous and resident fish within Nez Perce Territory.
GOALS
Provide technical, scientific and policy support to for treaty rights protection. Provide anadromous and resident fish recovery and restoration actions. Expand harvest opportunities for tribal members and the regional community. Monitor and evaluate production, habitat harvest, and applied science activities. Restore and recover habitat for healthy watershed environment. Ensure harvest and conservation actions comply with tribal laws and policies.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Support tribal leadership with technical, scientific, and policy input to assure protection of treaty rights, including harvest, fisheries management, water rights, and affects of federal land management. Aggressively protect, conserve and restore fish populations. Coordinate and interact with state, federal and tribal agencies and committees and private entities in assessing and implementing fish recovery and restoration plans. Conduct applied research, and conduct studies and monitoring for fish populations. Provide recommendations and overview to Endangered Species Act issues. Provide recommendations for restoration and protection of critical habitat for fish populations. Protect fish and wildlife resources through conservation actions. Coordinate with basin managers on harvest opportunities.
