Roberta J. Bisbee
Hello my name is Roberta
Josephine Bisbee. I am a descendent of Chief Twisted Hair, Chief Lawyer,
Chief Red Wolf of the Alpowa Band, and the
Wallowa Band. I was born and raised in the Lapwai Valley to Jennifer
Ramsey and Fredbert Jose’, the granddaughter of the late Roberta Moffett
and Fred Jose’ and Josephine Paul and Aaron Ramsey. I was also fortunate
to have my grandpa Don Taylor and Smokey Raboin in my life. We are aware
of the drug and alcohol problems facing many of our native people, I was
not immune from this, my grandmother Josie raised me.
I attended school in the Lapwai School District,
after graduating from Lapwai High School in 1998 I married Michael
Bisbee, Jr., we have three beautiful children- Micah (11), Michael III
(5), and Madden (2). I worked with the Nez Perce Tribe Finance
Department for two years before I went on to finish my four year degree
at University of Montana –Western (Dillon, MT) majoring in business and
graduating Cum Laude. While attending college I worked with the
Education Opportunity Program, Housekeeping, and the Business Office.
Currently I am pursuing my Masters in Business through the University of
Idaho.
My first employment opportunity was when I was sixteen
working for the Nez Perce Tribe Fire Management Department then
transferred to the Nez Perce Tribe Plant Maintenance/Housekeeping
Program which kept me employed my Junior and Senior year in high school.
From 1998-2005 I would work my winter, spring, and summer breaks for the
Nez Perce Tribe; Executive Office, Water Resource Department, Human
Resource Department, and Wildlife Department. Upon returning from Dillon
I became employed with the Human Resource Department as the Benefits
Specialist & HR Generalist for both the Nez Perce Tribe and the
Clearwater River Casino. Currently I am the administrator for the Board
of Trustees for the 401K plan for all four tribal entities. My past
employment demonstrates a high level of responsibility and I am known
for working well under pressure.

My personal attributes include outgoing, empathetic,
dedicated, responsible, and flexible. I approach issues with
common sense. I am honest, hard working, a good listener, an educator,
and dependable individual who is willing to sacrifice for the greater
good.
I will bring a positive attitude, fresh outlook on
growth and opportunities, with the willingness to learn and listen.
I am solution focused, fair minded, driven, and more importantly truly
care about the future of our tribe in regards to economic development,
treaty rights, and education. More specifically, developing employment
opportunities, further developing workforce skills, managing
relationships within our communities, and promoting diversity within the
economy.
