Final Scholarship Plan of Operation

MISSION:

To maintain an educated, technological tribal society that allows our tribal members the opportunities to succeed and thrive in any opportunities they choose.  To defend and maintain the sovereignty of the Nez Perce Tribe.

"I wish all my children would learn more and more everyday,
so they can mingle with the white people and
do business with them as well as anybody else."

Chief Joseph, 1904.

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the Nez Perce Tribal Higher Education Scholarship Program is to encourage and financially assist tribal members to seek higher education through available tribal funds. An overall goal is to expand educational opportunities as a means for individual tribal members to reach cultural, economic, and social prosperity and to contribute to protecting and advancing the sovereignty and way of life of the Nez Perce people. Assistance will be awarded on the basis of tribal enrollment, initiative, scholastic rating, and the availability of funds.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Process tribal scholarship funds for eligible tribal higher education students to support their academic or vocational technical programs. Expand student support services to assist current or future scholarship students to successfully enroll and complete post-secondary degree programs.
