I was born 1942 in Lewiston, ID and I'm a resident of
Lapwai, ID, graduating from Lapwai High School in 1960. Most of my
early childhood years were spend on the Umatilla Indian Reservation near
Pendleton, OR, where I spent a majority of my time with my maternal
grandparents learning, observing and enjoying a traditional lifestyle
and culture. It was at this time that I was taught to trace my
family ancestry through several generation while learning Nez Perce
history.
My education after high school included a certificate
from Portland Business College and time at Lewis-Clark Normal (State) &
the University of Idaho.
I have accumulated over 50 years of work experience with 43 yrs in administration & management in both public and private sectors throughout Indian Country USA. I've spent considerable time working in various capacities with the Nez Perce Tribe and would welcome to provide the effort needed to represent the best interests of the Nez Perce people and their tribal government in the demanding policy issues the tribe deals with on a day to day basis. It is in the interests of our Executive Committee to forge enhanced communications between employees, Committee members, Boards and Commissions within the General Council to represent the best interests of our tribal membership. A most important element I would impress on all concerned is the need for Policy Management coordination in the interests of health & human services, employment/training/education & economic opportunities, natural & cultural resources support, and the strengthening of public consultation and coordination between agencies and the general public with the Nez Perce
Tribe.
