Resources Program
VISION
To provide water resources management services to NPTEC
that ensures the protection, enhancement, and development of the Tribe's water
resources both surface and groundwater.
GOAL
The Water Resources Division manages the Tribe's surface
and groundwater and their watersheds for the benefit, health, culture and
welfare of the Tribal public and treaty - reserved resources.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
We participate in various water related
projects; we continue to address the quality of water available to sustain these
uses and seek opportunities to develop and enhance the Tribe's water resources.

Under the Clean Water Act, DEQ is required to analyze state waters to determine whether they meet state water quality
standards and if additional pollution controls are needed. Through a Memorandum of Understanding, DEQ,USEPA
and the Nez Perce Tribe recently completed a study of the physical, chemical and biological conditions of the South Fork Clearwater River
Watershed. Based on this study the three parties are proposing the following actions:
