Senior Citizen Program
VISION
The vision of the Nez Perce Senior Citizens Program is to
provide Nez Perce Elders, including Elders from other federally recognized
tribes, with quality services which promote Elder empowerment, maintain
self-sufficiency and ensure the maintenance and preservation of cultural values
and traditions of the Elders.
GOALS
To work efficiently and cooperatively with other tribal and
local community programs, organizations, and foundations, in order to bring
awareness, education and additional resources/services to the Elders residing on
the Nez Perce Reservation.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
To provide nutritional services through congregate or home
delivery to eligible elders at least five days per week. Provide Education
and Awareness about the resources available. Coordinate services with
other programs. Support staff training. Develop Program policies and
procedures to provide information and referral services to all eligible elders
through networking with tribal programs, state and federal agencies and other
local provides. To provide supportive services through transportation to
community and tribal events.
