Signature Event Planning
VISION
To establish a tourism base involving cooperative marketing and increased
national and international awareness about the Nimiipuu people providing revenue
building opportunities for participating tribal members.
GOALS
To bring the world to Nimiipuu Contry to learn about our people, increasing
awareness, sensitivity, and education with the inclusion of cultural resource
protection and commercialism avoidance.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
National Signature Event planning, tourism-related
development training and marketing; serve as a regional liaison with state,
local, and Tribal tourism groups; applicable media and print advertising; tour
group hosting; clearing house for local and regional travel information and
related Tribal services; certain local and national board membership and
participation in tourism-related matters.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS
Participation in regional tourism initiatives. Public Relations,
Marketing, Advertising. Grant research and application. Report to
NPTEC liaisons, subcommittee. Maintain local, state, and federal partners.
Promote Tribal Participation. book tours utilizing Nez Perce Tribal
Facilities/Membership. Sell tour itineraries/Packages.
Accomplishments
Planned and executed The Summer of Peace: Among the Nimiipuu National
Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Signature Event in June 2006.
Paid over $50,000 in honorariums to Nez Perce Tribal Presenters/Groups.
Successfully planned and executed 1st Annual Mimiiyooxat Softball Tournament
in June 2006 w/ 16 teams
Successfully planned and executed Earth & River Ways Tours
Gained Corporate & Federal support both financially and in labor assistance
Helped in planning national AIANTA (American Indian Alaska Native Tourism
Association) conference, serving as Pacific Northwest board member
Will host 35+ tour operators and receptive operators from Benelux (Belgium,
Netherlands, Luxemburg economic union), France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom,
and our partners from RMI
